SUMMARY:[In-person] Learning Circle - Courageous Leadership in the Face of Wicked Problems
DESCRIPTION:The social challenges we face in philanthropy and social investment are “wicked problems” – they are complex\, evolving and do not yield to traditional solutions. To face these wicked problems\, social investors need to embrace the complexity and risk that emerges from working on social challenges.  \nHow can we be deliberate\, courageous leaders who stay in open in the face of complexity and risk rather than shutting down? How do we embed this courage within the culture of our institutions and teams? \nIn this Learning Circle we will discuss the challenges of leading with courage in social investing with Dr. Gayle Peterson\, Associate Fellow\, Saïd Business School and Director of the Oxford Impact Investing and Social Finance Programmes\, as well as CEO of pfc Social Impact Advisors. Gayle’s recent book\, Good\, Evil\, Wicked: The Art\, Science\, and Business of Giving builds on her decade-long research on leadership\, providing rich insights on leadership for social investors.
