Oriel was a long-standing anchor of CNBC’s top-rated finance programmes, where she provided in-depth coverage of markets, business trends, and economic developments across Asia. Prior to joining CNBC, she was a key broadcaster at Bloomberg, delivering expert analysis to a global audience.

In Australia, Oriel built a distinguished career with the Nine Network, serving as a presenter on The Today Show and Business Sunday. With her deep expertise in financial journalism and on-camera presence, she has interviewed some of the world’s most influential business leaders and policymakers.

Brent Rees

Brent Rees is APAC Network’s CEO / Executive Producer–one of Australia’s most experienced cross-media executives. He has written, produced, directed and Executive Produced prime time television for Discovery Channel and National Geographic as well as Australia’s major broadcasters. In print, he’s been a State Editor-in-Chief, Digital Director and General Manager.

Dr. Arnil Paras

Dr. Arnil Paras is the Executive Director, Insights and Academy.

Arnil has close to two decades of experience in research and teaching. He was previously an associate professor of economics at the Asian Institute of Management, where he was also the director of the university’s Master in Development Management.

He has postgraduate degrees from the London School of Economics and City University of Hong Kong, and earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Public Policy.

Rushika Shekhar

Director, Knowledge Products

Rushika Shekhar is the Director of Knowledge Products at AVPN, where she oversees AVPN’s impact measurement and management (IMM).

Rushika has extensive experience designing and managing international development programs across Asia and Africa, with a keen understanding of how to communicate complex issues effectively. Her past experience has included leading programmes for Project Last Mile, a public-private partnership with The Coca-Cola Company that included working with private sector marketing experts to adapt how traditional public sector communication programs were delivered. Rushika holds a Master’s degree in International Development from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.

Applications for the 2025 run will open in January 2025. Successful applicants will be notified via email.

The 2025 run of the programme will be from 16 April – 22 May 2025.

The programme will start with a one-hour virtual kickoff and induction event, followed by a 3 day in-person workshop in Japan, concluding with 2 online sessions. 

The time commitment consists of 7 hours of virtual learning, and three days for the in-person convening.

  • Kickoff and Induction Event – 1 hour
  • In-person Convening – 3 days
  • Virtual Modules – 6 hours (3 hours x 2 days)

The registration cost is USD 2,000 for AVPN members and USD 3,000 for non-AVPN members. Suite Pass subscribers don’t need to pay any extra fees to participate.

Please note that flight and accommodation costs for the in-person convening in Tokyo will be covered by the participant.

There will be no refunds. Please make sure your schedule will allow you to participate for the full duration.
